U.S. carmaker General Motors has agreed to pay a fine of $35 million for the late Withdrawal of car Chevrolet Cobalt in connection with defective ignition system, reported the US Ministry of Transportation.

According to the legislation, GM was required to notify the Department of Transportation about the defects in the cars within five days, after which the withdrawal of cars must follow. However carmaker not complied with these requirements, notes the Ministry, reports ITAR-TASS.
