It was attended by the heads of the railway administrations of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and associate members of the Council - the heads of the railways of Georgia, Latvia, Bulgaria and Finland, reports

At the event the balance of the work of the organizations since last year was summed up. Thus, 64 meetings of committees and working groups with the participation of representatives of the railway administrations were held, amendments to a number of regulations were drafted, changes in the Regulations to extend the useful life of the freight cars plying on international routes, in the Rules of transportation of dangerous goods, in the Rules of transportation of liquid cargoes in bulk in tank-wagons and bunker type wagons for transportation of bitumen were conformed.

Agenda of the 59th session of the Council is expected to consider a range of issues, including the results of the operational work of the rail network for the first 9 months of 2013, standards of train schedule for 2014/2015 years, the results of the census of freight cars and containers, implementation of the agreement on a unified management system and the use of the stock of freight wagons.
