On March 30, at the regular press briefing the head of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov announced the preliminary results of the presidential election. According to him, 90.39% of voters voted for the incumbent President Islam Karimov, it means 17,122 mln. people. In the second place the candidate of the party "Milliy Tiklanish" Akmal Saidov with 3.08% of the vote, in the third place the candidate from the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Hatamzhon Ketmonov (2.92%), in the fourth - the representative of the Social Democratic Party "Adolat" Narimon Umarov (2.05%).
Abdusalomov said that any election irregularities weren’t recorded. The turnout in the presidential election was 91.01%.
According to the head of the Central Executive Committee of Uzbekistan, the final election results will be published in the 10-day period, no later than April 8, 2015.
